Post Description

This is the band Gordon Rowley was in before Nightwing. Although I enjoy Nightwing, they could be very cheesy indeed. Strife was a prog oriented hardrock project; and when they decided to have fun it was a little bit of Hawkwind or Sweet that they tossed in the mix, rather than pomp cheese. Actually if you wonder what the Pink Fairies might have sounded like had they stayed together through the 70"s; this band might give you an idea. Second album "Back to Thunder" is even heavier.
Strife formed some time around 1972 [or thereabouts] and became a popular though obscure live band, playing support to the likes of Jethro Tull, Baker Gurvitz Army and Procol Harum. Eventually they got signed by Chrysalis and put together an album using their most popular live material. And that?s the album this is, ?Rush?.
