ÛÛ This is one hell of an album, folks. Sacramentum's long ÛÛ
ÛÛ out-of-print classic "Far Away From The Sun" exudes an ÛÛ
ÛÛ awesome smorgasbord of interesting melodies, excellent ÛÛ
ÛÛ guitar work, and unforgettable ambient atmosphere through ÛÛ
ÛÛ use of cluttered riff changes (in a good way) melded ÛÛ
ÛÛ together with the "white noise" emanating from the drums. ÛÛ
ÛÛ The vocals are a cold rasp, often adding an extra layer ÛÛ
ÛÛ of melody. This "melodic rasp" approach is most prominent ÛÛ
ÛÛ on the track "Obsolete Tears". ÛÛ
ÛÛ So what does it sound like ? Imagine a cross between ÛÛ
ÛÛ Dissection and Immortal, make them blacker, multiply the ÛÛ
ÛÛ atmosphere by a million, and throw in the ability to make ÛÛ
ÛÛ the two aforementioned bands sound like utter feces in ÛÛ
ÛÛ comparison, and you might not be that far away from what ÛÛ
ÛÛ Sacramentum have achieved with this magnificent opus. The ÛÛ
ÛÛ musical structure consists of one, two, sometimes three ÛÛ
ÛÛ guitars weaving in and out of one another, creating an ÛÛ
ÛÛ extremely melodic sheet of ambience that works it's way ÛÛ
ÛÛ deep into your mind, creating a gateway to another world. ÛÛ
ÛÛ In summary, this release is highly recommended, and more ÛÛ
ÛÛ than worthy of the fellatio it gets from the Black Metal ÛÛ
ÛÛ elite. ÛÛ
