-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I actually rate this show quite highly and overall I may be a little harsh in
giving it only a VG- rating. That said, I believe it has more to do with the
equipment used to record than the actual quality of the recording itself. The
audience level is minimal and the concert is loud and clear on the whole,
although it is very muddy and deep in the recording meaning you have to strain
to hear it at any great volume. The show is extremely enjoyable with various
highlights and slightly unusual changes throughout. 'A Love Bizarre' is a great
example of Prince's band control where he slows the band down to a funky groove
and adds the "Confusion" horn-line bringing the whole thing to an end with the
"Vegas" crescendo. The following 'Do Me, Baby' also unusually contains (what
appears to be) a short organ solo by Prince midway through. Unfortunately a few
of the tracks are incomplete and fade out, however the show is so good that I
can overlook these flaws and omissions. Still, I can't overlook the quality, and
that's where this release is a big disappointment.
