  ::      Djevel is back, at long last. They continue to do what they      ::
  ::      do best, and that is to create possessed mid-paced, yet          ::
  ::      melodic as hell, black metal. The presence of evil is still      ::
  ::      very much intact, and these gentlemen have in no way become      ::
  ::      a single shred softer since the previous outing.                 ::
  ::                                                                       ::
  ::      "Besatt av Maane og Natt" is 45 minutes of sheer                 ::
  ::      brilliance. The darkness is ever present on all 8 of the         ::
  ::      eerily haunting and hypnotizing tracks summoned here. The        ::
  ::      intensity, and at times very fast paced riffs, threatens to      ::
  ::      subdue and take over the listener completely.                    ::
  ::                                                                       ::
  ::      The talent displayed by Erlend Hjelvik on vocals is truly        ::
  ::      amazing, and I now more than ever am a firm believer that        ::
  ::      he should quit his day job in Kvelertak, or at least             ::
  ::      downgrade it to a side project. Because I already want a         ::
  ::      lot more of this.                                                ::
  ::                                                                       ::
  ::      T. Ciekals, Mannevond and Erlend is definitely a winning         ::
  ::      team. And with the addition of Dirge Rep on drums, the sky       ::
  ::      (or in this case, the deepest pits of hell) is the limit         ::
  ::      for what they can accomplish. Stand out tracks are "Og           ::
  ::      Englene Dinglet fra Galgene...", which is perhaps Djevel at      ::
  ::      it's finest? And of course the title track "Besatt av Maane      ::
  ::      og Natt" and "Marefar".                                          ::
  ::                                                                       ::
  ::      This is truly a diabolical journey that reeks of sulphur         ::
  ::      and hellfire, so raise your jug of mead, and hail Djevel!        ::
  ::      If you have managed to avoid the spellbinding chants by          ::
  ::      Djevel thus far, I would not recommend you do so any             ::
  ::      longer. They have really perfected their sound since last        ::
  ::      time, but I believe the best is yet to come.                     ::
