Dit is de tweede cd van de Belgische band Soulwax.
De opvolger van Leave The Story Untold (1996) werd geproduceerd door David Sardy (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Helmet), opgenomen in Los Angeles en Gent en gemixt in New York.
Soulwax maakt op Much Against Everybody's Advice melodieuze, soms 'poppy', dan weer snoeiharde gitaarrock.
Akoestische (slide-)gitaren, electrische piano's, plotseling opduikende (drum-) samples en eigenzinnige strijkersarrangementen houden de muziek voortdurend interessant en afwisselend.
Voorbeelden: Conversation Intercom, Saturday, de ballad When Logics Die, Too Many DJ's en de single My Cruel Joke (met Tracy Bonham).
