android town AnDrOiD

 Android Town is a mobile location based social community (Android OS 1.6 requirement). It searches out people near you using the same application and shows them on your screen. You are then able to message them, add them as friends and even send them a picture of where you are. You can also check their profile.

From there on it"s up to you if you want to meet them or not.

AT can make use of either network location or GPS based location with the latter of course being more accurate but at the same time more battery consuming. The application is also fully customizable in what details you want to show to other users (users tagged as your friends can see all your profile).
You can also set the way the application behaves:

    * set minimum time before the application redraws your location / or minimum distance traveled
    * set the time interval after which the application checks for new notifications
    * set the time interval after which the application refreshes location of other users near you
    * use gps or not
