            Û  Another proclamation of war has been announced      Û
            Û  with a Metal mission to kill. Who better than       Û
            Û  Sweden's own LEGIONS OF WAR to sound the call of    Û
            Û  the death brigade. “Forced To The Ground” marks     Û
            Û  their sophomore effort and it is quite an           Û
            Û  improvement from the debut. The 2011 release        Û
            Û  “Riding With The Blitz” (Single) showed promise,    Û
            Û  with its grandiose visions and shell shock          Û
            Û  capabilities, but this album is leaps and bounds    Û
            Û  better.                                             Û
            Û  Fans of HAIL OF BULLETS, RAZOR OF OCCAM, VORGUS,    Û
            Û  or WITCHERY, will be enticed by its morbid          Û
            Û  visions. The songs have melody and character.       Û
            Û  Picture AT WAR with NOCTURNAL BREED or NOCTURNAL    Û
            Û  FEAR with MERCILESS. The vocals are harsh, but      Û
            Û  audible, the guitars are menacing and thunderous.   Û
            Û  “Pile Of Corpses” and “Death Brigade” even have     Û
            Û  some shouting and gang vocals. Given the new clear  Û
            Û  winter storms of late, I be amiss to not mention    Û
            Û  BLIZZARD, SODOM, BEWITCHED, or BRIMSTONE, just so   Û
            Û  you can get the idea of the potential this holds.   Û
            Û  Deep in the dark frost, the master of war know how  Û
            Û  to deliver the goods for a night of revenge.        Û
            Û  Remember how good the OLD MAN's CHILD albums were   Û
            Û  towards the late '90s? This ensemble of fear knows  Û
            Û  how to evoke that Black / Thrash attack that works  Û
            Û  quite effectively. These reapers know how to take   Û
            Û  command and break through the barricades. Sure,     Û
            Û  this is nothing novel, but if you like Black Metal  Û
            Û  and Thrash then this is the perfect melodic blend.  Û
            Û  Add to that war torn diaries of past valor, and     Û
            Û  you have a memorable experience.                    Û
            Û  They still choose to hide behind their stage        Û
            Û  names, so I have no idea who the musicians          Û
            Û  actually are, but I suspect that they play in some  Û
            Û  other better known Swedish acts. Unlike the         Û
            Û  over-rated GHOST, LEGIONS OF WAR support the true   Û
            Û  Metal Milieu with the mettle might of revenge.      Û
