³º then, a little disappointed by “Mysticeti º ³
³º Victoria” the debut album by DARKTRIBE, a disc º ³
³º that was released in 2012 through the Massacre º ³
³º Records channel…However, I had obviously º ³
³º detected some interesting elements, wrapped in º ³
³º their early naive outfit, with still a few rough º ³
³º edges that should be fixed, but also numerous º ³
³º already interesting parameters with a real º ³
³º creative potential, a prospective in the future º ³
³º making… Encouraging! º ³
³º º ³
³º Now the French Power Metal act DARKTRIBE have º ³
³º signed with Scarlet Records for the release of º ³
³º the sophomore album "The Modern Age"…The album º ³
³º release date is set on July 21st…And indeed, all º ³
³º my early expectations were fulfilled º ³
³º brilliantly… º ³
³º º ³
³º First the sound design has been immensely º ³
³º perfected. Of course, the mixing duties and the º ³
³º mastering was handled by the iconic producer º ³
³º Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios in Denmark º ³
³º (MERCENARY/PRETTY MAIDS/PYRAMAZE/XERATH) … º ³
³º º ³
³º Secondly the songwriting has been seriously up- º ³
³º dated, while giving an Heaviest approach and in º ³
³º the same time showing proudly a more confident º ³
³º side of this band (“Holy Water Day”), notably º ³
³º with a new found identity concerning the melodic º ³
³º side, leaving behind the cheesy Happy Metal kind º ³
³º for a more Progressive density in the purpose º ³
³º (“My Last Odyssey”)! º ³
³º º ³
³º "The Modern Age" is the logical follow up to the º ³
³º aforementioned Massacre Records debut full º ³
³º length effort "Mysticeti Victoria" , and while º ³
³º keeping the same stylistic focus, it’s clearly º ³
³º updated, an improvement in every section, this º ³
³º new work is successfully reaching another state º ³
³º in the higher ranks of my personal pedestal, a º ³
³º stretched level in my threshold of headbangin' º ³
³º appreciation, with an even some more convincing º ³
³º and rousing instrumental interplay, a polished º ³
³º stabilized sound and an intrepid perspective in º ³
³º the structure, showing a less predictable and º ³
³º less formulaic process, still nicely enhanced by º ³
³º some Folkloric flavors but nothing too corny or º ³
³º out of range…Clearly a positive analysis as far º ³
³º as i’m concerned, another step in the right º ³
³º direction! º ³
