This is a land of extremes – of great natural beauty – where resourceful people have built extraordinary lives against the odds. On this journey of discovery we plunge deep into a remarkable, mysterious and hidden world.

 

We meet farmers clinging to remote mountains, growing and preparing tea the way they have for over a 1000 years.  We go ice fishing with hunters up on the Russian border, where temperatures plunge to minus 40˚C. We meet herdsmen on the great Asian steppes, who’ve been riding horses since before they could walk.
