          Notes:

          I have read numerous discussions on various
          forums wether this band plays NSBM or not. The
          members of the band themselves says that they
          do not so in my opinion this should end the
          discussion right there. This album is one of
          the best in my collection and it is also one of
          the most played. Usually when I get tired of
          regular bm like Dark Funeral or Marduk I put
          this album on because this album has a depth
          and intelligence that the bands mentioned
          before can only dream of. The nice shiftings
          between brutality and mid-tempo parts are
          brilliant. In that sense this could be compared
          to Satyricon and/or Enslaved. Not musically
          because Sigrblot does not, in my opinion, sound
          like anything else. The use of choirs adds some
          nice atmosphere to the songs which are very
          well written and most importantly well played.
          It sounds just as good as they head full speed
          ahead as it does in the slower parts. The riffs
          are of high quality and really puts music to
          the brutality that the lyrics bring forth.
          Usually i hate saples on a black metal album
          but when it, like it does here, is used with
          intelligence and adds something to the songs
          then it is just brilliant.

          If you have given up on black metal because
          everything sounds the same my advice to you is
          to get hold of this album because it will blow
          you away with it´s high intensity which is
          mixed with great melodies.

          The production and arrangements
          The lyrics are very well written
          "Crisis of Faith". This song is one of the best
          metal songs over the last ten years!
          "Commie Scum". Nice cover of this
          Fortress-song.
