     Û Û   Most melodic death metal lovers would glorify releases like  Û Û
     Û Û   “Lunar Strain” by IN FLAMES and “Skydancer” and by DARK      Û Û
     Û Û   TRANQUILLITY as their shiny gateway into the fruitful and    Û Û
     Û Û   wonderful genre. On that note, the Spanish SKYDANCER named   Û Û
     Û Û   after that aforementioned debut album by the Swedish gods    Û Û
     Û Û   have a new release in store for us, and it’s not only        Û Û
     Û Û   fantastic, but exactly what reminded me why I love Melodic   Û Û
     Û Û   Death Metal so much.                                         Û Û
     Û Û   “Land of the Grim” the 4th studio album by SKYDANCER comes   Û Û
     Û Û   with 8 tracks equipped with melody and talent not seen in    Û Û
     Û Û   the cargo of recent releases which all either sound bland,   Û Û
     Û Û   average, or another rip-off of some AT THE GATES or          Û Û
     Û Û   INSOMNIUM album. What makes this LP so good? The whole       Û Û
     Û Û   emotional feel and dedication that seems so damn clear,      Û Û
     Û Û   accompanied with such a high replay value which made me      Û Û
     Û Û   play this release up to 4 times and eventually add it to my  Û Û
     Û Û   regular Melo-Death playlist which I crave every now and      Û Û
     Û Û   then.                                                        Û Û
     Û Û   Let me start by complementing the production quality on      Û Û
     Û Û   “Land of the Grim” which is immediately showcased on the     Û Û
     Û Û   initial track “Swamp Tomb” when the drums pound and the      Û Û
     Û Û   guitarists riff and shred some extravagant melodies. The     Û Û
     Û Û   Production techniques are most suitable for something not    Û Û
     Û Û   so mainstream and pure to the genre in its underground       Û Û
     Û Û   side.                                                        Û Û
     Û Û   Next, the guttural growls, and semi-shrieks which are        Û Û
     Û Û   absolutely perfect for such an album, since they amalgamate  Û Û
     Û Û   the Death Metal feel with the harmony and emotion which is   Û Û
     Û Û   found in Melodic counterpart of the genre.                   Û Û
     Û Û   Finally, the drums and guitars play as one colossal body     Û Û
     Û Û   supporting the growling behemoth on his quest to deliver     Û Û
     Û Û   pure and true Melodic Metal music. The band’s talents are    Û Û
     Û Û   showcased perfectly on tracks like “Ancares” and “The        Û Û
     Û Û   Galician Exile” which happen to my favorites on the album    Û Û
     Û Û   along “Swamp Tomb”.                                          Û Û
     Û Û   To all fans of KALMAH, old DARK TRANQUILITY and NIGHTRAGE,   Û Û
     Û Û   “Land of the Grim” is a recommended release which will       Û Û
     Û Û   prove its worth upon your first listen.                      Û Û
