Corel PhotoImpact X3 has the tools and capabilities of both photo editing and basic webpage design software. While this makes it trickier to use, you have a wide assortment of editing and design tools at your fingertips.

The software’s interface is easy to navigate, which makes it easy to find editing tools. PhotoImpact is organized into eight functional areas that are broken down in to specific tasks. You can edit your photos using either the ExpressFix or Full Edit mode. ExpressFix offers automatic adjustments to exposure, color, focus and skin tone at the click of a button. The Full Edit mode contains three editing techniques: enhancements, portrait touchups and effects.

Between the two editing tabs, you can find both basic and advanced editing tools. The photo editor offers the standard tools, such as zoom, crop, resize, and paint or draw. You also can adjust the color saturation of your photos. For more professional edits, you can use the software’s cloning tool and masks to remove blemishes or unwanted objects in a photo. The software has panorama and HDR imaging tools, which create amazing effects.

To help you navigate through the editing modes and learn how to use the tools, you can refer to the SmartGuide. It provides information on a variety of techniques that may be useful. While the guide uses technical terms and isn’t very intuitive, it can help you learn how to create the results you want.

This photo editing software does include a photo organizer; however, it does not work without Photo Explorer, which makes managing your photos tedious. You can search for specific photos using the image search feature. The best photo editing software support many file types, and PhotoImpact is compatible with 32 files formats, including RAW, JPG, TIFF, PNG, GIF, PSD and animated GIFs.

While the software imports most files, it offers few sharing features. The photo editor does not offer a way to directly post your photos to social media or online photo galleries. Still, you can attach photos to emails or simply print them. The software has a Photo Project Wizard that helps you create greeting cards, CD and DVD labels, posters, and web slideshows.
